Christmas Festivities

We had such a fun Christmas this year.  It was so fun to watch our boys. Henry was super excited for Santa to come this year and Wes was happy and excited because Henry was.  We jam packed our month of December with many fun Holiday activities and many parties.  It was fun to get together with so many friends and family over the Holidays.  The boys enjoyed all the Christmas art projects, seeing the Temple lights, visiting the train garden and partying with their cousins often through out the Holiday season.

Each Christmas Eve Santa visits Grammy Barney's house and delivers stockings to each of the Grandkids.  They all get to watch quietly as Santa calls out their names and places a stocking on the fire place for them.  The kids get so giddy to see Santa and are so excited when they hear their name.  It is one of my favorite traditions.

Christmas Day was enjoyable as we spent the morning opening presents and eating breakfast at our house and the rest of the day at each Grandparents home.  It was so fun to see the excitement our boys had on Christmas morning.  Henry could not believe all of the presents and as he opened each one he would say "Oh, I just love this so much." While Wes yelled "oh" loud and excited as he opened each gift.  We were all spoiled and I think it's safe to say that we had a wonderful Christmas.

Polar Express

Recently we went and rode on the Polar Express train ride in Williams, Arizona.  Many Barney cousins were there to enjoy the magical adventure of the Polar Express.  The boys enjoyed snowball fights, coloring and visiting with Mrs. Clause before boarding the Polar Express.  While on the train ride the boys danced their hearts out, sipped on hot cocoa, ate delicious cookies and played and laughed with all of their cousins, Grammy, aunts and uncles.  It was such a fun little day trip that really got us into the Christmas spirit!

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a great Thanksgiving.  We started the day with the Gilbert Turkey Trot.  Henry and Wes both did awesome by running the entire fun run.  Wes would not let anyone hold or help him,  he was our little runner.  We then went to my parents house for yummy food and fun games for everyone.  We finished our weekend up at the ranch to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Barneys.  It was fun to relax with everyone up there and enjoy another delicious Thanksgiving meal.  We are so blessed to have such amazing family all around us.

Halloween

This was the first year that Henry had an opinion on his costume.  He decided that he wanted to dress up as a shark.  He was very quick to correct people that he was just a pretend shark and not a scary shark.  Wes scored a cute turtle costume from his older cousin.  He did not skip a beat.  He kept his costume on all night, went trick or treating at each door and ate more candy than the rest of us.  All in all we had a great Halloween!

Mason Jennings

Last week we went and saw one of our favorites, Mason Jennings. We try to go every year.  This year we went with our good friends the Johnsons.  We ate some yummy taco's from some highly recommended American Tacos and than walked on over to the Crecent Ballroom where the show was.  It was a great night for friends, food and music.

Little Wes

For those of you that know Wes, know that he is one busy boy.  He is constantly on the go, always into something, normally on a counter of some sorts,  making a mess somewhere, but always ready for a good time.  When you see Wes he is smiling and running.  He usually has a bump or scratch somewhere because his legs don't keep up with him.  The other day he bumped his eye and now has a little bit more than a bump or scratch.  He officially got his first shiner.  Our poor little Wes is walking around looking like this.

Visiting the Wilsons!

Last week we had the opportunity to go to Utah.  We had a blast!  Wes(the wild child that he is) will not stay in a crib.  We crammed in a lot each day so that we could drive home late enough and transfer a sleeping Wes into bed.  We visited  Wheelers Farm, Cascade Springs, bowling at BYU, Antelope Island, Park City, Hogle Zoo, and we clocked many hours at a variety parks.  The best part was the time we got to spend with the Wilsons.  It was so fun to see them and to catch up.  We can't wait until our next Utah trip!
